Paddling Paddling is a non-competitive sports program for youth and adults. Members paddle out of the Anacostia Community Boathouse, which is located between the 11th street bridge spans on the western bank of the Anacostia River.
The program is run by the Paddling Commissioner Susan Chapin who can be contacted at 202-365-0803 or at susanchapin@usa.net.
The season is May 1st until October 31st. To use a club boat, you must be either a primary or secondary member. Primary members are given keys, may take out equipment, and given rack space, if available.
Secondary members must be accompanied by a primary member when they go out on the river. For record purposes, secondary members are assigned to a household but may paddle with any primary member of the club.
The annual membership fee is $70 for each primary member and $10 for each secondary member.
